If the walls of the Buckingham could replay the musical sights and sounds they have absorbed over their three-quarters of a century, the viewer would be treated to a medley of glorious musical styles, classical and modern dance and artwork created by world-renowned artists and performers in residence at the Hotel. The legacy of these talented people, whose love of the arts converged at the Buckingham, continues to this day to make the Buckingham Hotel the choice of talented performers, artists and travelers who appreciate the hotel for offering an oasis of quietude in the musical and artistic heart of New York.
Here, briefly, are some of the Buckingham's uniquely talented musical guests, to name but a few of those now past.
- Ignacy Jan Paderewski, composer, one of the world's greatest pianists, international humanitarian, and first Prime Minister of a free Poland after World War I
- Victoria de los Angeles, soprano opera singer
- Rosalyn Tureck, classical pianist, known worldwide as the "High Priestess of Bach"
- Giuseppe De Luca, lead baritone at the Metropolitan Opera for more than 30 years
- Giovanni Martinelli, one of the world's greatest tenors
- Albertina Rasch, dancer and international choreographer for Broadway shows and Hollywood films
- Dmitri Tiomkin, Academy Award-winning Hollywood composer
